Osteoarthritis or arthritis is a normal aging process. From our 30’s we all visibly start to age by getting wrinkles. Your joints and soft tissues also start to age too, but often this does not cause any symptoms.

Osteoarthritis is different to rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA is a type of inflammatory arthritis caused by alterations in the immune system. RA requires diagnosis by a specialist rheumatologist. If you are unsure, our physiotherapists can assess whether you require a rheumatology review.
Physiotherapy can help both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis. We often suggest activity modification advice, exercise, and movement. We may also recommend other options such as hydrotherapy and heat.
