We have helped many individuals where pain persists longer than expected. This is often through second opinion work, where the individual has tried other treatments in the past. We understand how frustrating it can be, if you have been in pain for a long time and don’t feel like anyone is listening.
At Moko Physiotherapy, we do things differently. We listen and understand you and your individual needs. We will not repeat the same treatment if it has not helped you previously. We look at you as a person, not just your injury. We will ask you about your sleep, lifestyle, stress, mental health, screen time, work and relationships. These factors, although not the cause of your symptoms will contribute to the overall experience of pain. If we can help you make small changes in each of these areas, longstanding pain can become more manageable.
We do not think that you should have to ‘just manage’ your symptoms. We truly believe that anything is possible and it’s never too late to help someone. Our clinical specialist Naomi commonly sees patients for second opinion work, using a specialist approach known as cognitive functional therapy which is not routinely used by all physiotherapists. All we ask is that you come with an open mind to try a slightly different approach. We also work closely with psychologists, Amanda Brough and Alex Standbury. There is the option to do joint sessions together to intigrate physiotherapy and psychology.
If you have tried lots of physiotherapy before with no success, you may find that this combined approach helps.
