- Rotator cuff shoulder pain
- Gluteal pain / hip pain
Originally used in medical settings since the 1980s, it is now widely adopted across physiotherapy.
What results can I expect?
Many patients report noticeable pain reduction after just 2-3 sessions. In chronic conditions, success rates of 60â80% have been reported when other treatments havenât worked.
A typical course involves 4-6 sessions. For optimum results, the Shockwave will be delivered within your standard 40 min Physiotherapy session, alongside a rehab plan.
Is it painful?
Yes, Shockwave therapy is meant to be uncomfortable. You may experience an increase in pain shortly after, redness and mild swelling. This is a good response as we are trying to stimulate the bodies natural healing response. It should not be more than a 5-6 / 10 or last longer than a day after treatment.
